"I believe in limited government. “That government is best that governs least.” (Thomas Paine) Government was created for the benefit of its citizens and to serve its citizens. Government was not created to redistribute wealth or to build a bloated empire at the taxpayer’s expense.

I believe in a government that is responsive and accountable to its citizens and a government that treats its employees and citizens with decency, dignity and deference.

I believe in a government that works diligently and plans prudently to enhance the quality of life for its citizens. Our government must roll up its sleeves and work with other local and state governments for the betterment of our community. Our government must plan for and seek appropriate commercial growth to ensure that our economy doesn’t die and our children and grandchildren have a place to live and work.

I believe in a government that lives within its means and does not tax its citizens for unessential services.

I believe in a government that is transparent and exhibits common sense.

I believe that city counsel makes the policy decisions that must be adhered to by city management; not vice versa. "
