Thad was elected to the Washington City Council in November of 2009. Thad is married to April [Wadsworth] Seegmiller. Thad and April have three children and they live in old-town Washington. Both sides of Thad's family have deep ties to Washington City. Thad's parents, Tom and Tammy Seegmiller, have lived in Washington for over 30 years. As a result, many Seegmiller traditions are centered around Washington City's traditions. For example, Thad has personally raced in more than 22 years of Washington's 4th of July races.
Thad's Seegmiller relatives were involved in farming in the Washington Fields and the early growth of Washington City, including the design and construction of the Virgin River diversion dam that finally withstood the seasonal floods. Thad is also a descendant of Jacob Bastian. Jacob Bastian was a prominent early contributor to Washington City and he has been memorialized with a plaque at the outdoor memorial of the Washington City Museum.
Thad attended Washington Elementary School and Pine View High School. At Pine View Thad was elected to serve as the Student Body President. Thad served an LDS mission in Mozambique. Thad obtained a Business Management Degree from BYU and a Law Degree from the University of Montana. Thad is a licensed attorney in both Utah and Nevada. Thad is an attorney with Seegmiller Law Firm in St. George, Utah where he emphasizes business transactions, business planning and advisement, estate planning, contracts, land usage, water law, contracts and general practice areas.
Growing-up in Washington City was a great experience for Thad and he is pleased to now be in a position to give back to the Community that raised him. In his free time Thad loves to garden, work on the farm, recreate in Southern Utah's great outdoors, and play sports with his children.
