The City Council consists of the Mayor and five Council members who are all elected at large. Washington City has a Council/Mayor form of government with a part time Mayor, the mayor only votes in the event of a tie. The Mayor and Council members serve staggered four-year terms on a part-time basis. Elections in Washington City are non-partisan.
